梅酒 Home Made Umeshu
Umeshu is a macerated plum alcohol that is very popular in Japan. It is generally consumed as an aperitif, but can also be used in certain cocktail recipes. Here is our tutorial on how to make your own umeshu at home!

600 g |
Rock or crystal sugar |
350 g |
Alcohol (vodka, whiskey or other) |
40 ounces |
1,8 litre glass jar |

PREPARATION
- Sterilise the glass jar by immersing it in boiling water and letting it air dry.
- Add the ume, sugar and alcohol to the glass jar and seal it well.
- Let the umeshu age for at least 6 months in a cool, dark place. Wait 12 months for best results.
- Enjoy as is or on ice. Kampai!
